One of my family’s recent home-improvement projects was having a falling-down 15-year-old back fence replaced. As I contemplated the old fence, I had a crazy idea, the result of which you can see in the photo below.
After removing all the nails from the fence slats, we sawed them to about three foot lengths. I researched the distance from our home in Boston to some meaningful places we’ve lived or visited. I got busy painting, using a variety of leftover paints I found in our basement (we can’t seem to ever get rid of paint). We then nailed them to a post and voila!
